An update to the shop!

I’ve decided to start creating smaller pieces of art available for direct purchase through the shop along with prints of my more popular pieces that have already been sold.

Larger pieces will still be exclusively available at art shows, and/ or for private direct purchase. Use the contact button on the site to contact me directly about purchasing an artwork.

I hope to have a few pieces up in time for the Yuletide season.

These of course will be one of a kind pieces, with only one available, so, first come first served.

To get notified when a new piece ‘drops’ follow my IG Here, or sign up for the newsletter Here, or you can follow my FB page Here.

More updates as they come!

Radio silence?

Hello my fellow art aficionados! I’m sure you’re wondering: Has Hart given up the ghost with that whole ‘art thing’?

Of course not.

As I’ve mentioned before, I took the past year off to gather myself after a few very stressful years. That and life seems to find new and exciting things for me to devote all my time to. I’ll save the details, as I’m sure you too have lots of things happening in your personal and professional life that keeps you from the things you love as well.

But, have no fear. This time next year I’ll be in full swing again. I have plans for more process videos for my IG page since they seem to be popular, and I have a few other things up my sleeves.

If you didn’t get an opportunity to visit the three group shows I was chosen to participate in this year, have no worries, more will be on the way.

And in addition to wrapping up (hopefully) a couple of my series, I have plans for a couple new series I plan to unleash on the unsuspecting public as well.

Of course, all of this takes time. Precious, precious time. So I appreciate you sticking with me while I regroup, renew, and find some time to create more art nibblits for you to gnash your teeth on.

Speaking of, I sometimes like to fancy myself a writer. I post to my short stories blog even less frequently than I do here, but, it’s been known to happen. Check out the HK writing blog here.

Until then, take time for yourself and those you love, eat the rich, and remember: art is resistance.

First show of 2023!!

I know I said I was taking time out to work on my mad skillz, but, I like to show my work as well.

That being said, I have the pleasure to announce that I have a couple pieces in this year’s Dark Hearts show at Kanon Collective.

Opening reception: First Friday, February 3, 5-9:30

Show runs through Sunday, February 26

6501 West Colfax Ave.
Lakewood, CO, 80214

Juried by Denver’s Power Couple, Merhia Weise and Andrew Novick!

February may be the month of true love but at Kanon they are exploring the darker and sometimes funnier side of love and art. The pieces in the show communicate numerous themes like sensuality, defective anatomy, gothic love, obsession, anti-love, fantasy, you name it.

Artists in this year’s show include: Tamara Folven Andersen, Christine Rose Curry, Meghan Ecklund, Pam Farris, James Fuller, Mary Hudgins, Rachel Hueske, Eric Jones, Hart Krypilo, Tamara Mahoney, Terra Marks, Michael Nicosia, Dustin Parr, Brad Ramsey, Joy Redstone, Aaron Reneau, Ian Rumley, Alex Seminara, Adelie Tillman, Malgorzata Wacht, Karen Winfield

Dark Heart was juried by Denver’s real power couple, Merhia Weise and Andrew Novick. Merhia is an artist and worked in community engagement for Meow Wolf, and Andrew has been a fixture in the Denver art and music scene for many decades, usually with something involving whatever new and twisted food concoction he has created.

Hope to see you there!

Gone fission

Just like everyone else out there, I’m still dealing with the repercussions of the past few years.

I recently saw an IG video that basically said how “It’s 2023! Every day may be the first of the apocalypse!”, and I have yet to find something else that captures my feelings right about now, about life and my place in it.

That being said, I’m taking the next year or so off from creating art in a formal sense. As in with the intent to show. Or if I do show, it will be with older pieces. And while I may show what I will be creating at a later date, that’s not my primary goal right now.

I’m taking this year to hone my craft, and explore some new techniques. If you’d like to follow the process, I will be documenting it on my Instagram, with videos, stills, stories, and of course, my pithy repartee.

And that’s about it for right now. Ciao’!
